EU nationals are permitted to acquire immovable property on the same basis as Cypriots and without any restrictions.
Under the Immovable Property Acquisition(Aliens) Law Cap. 109, non EU nationals however need to apply for approval from the council of ministers before purchasing any immovable property. Normally such permission is granted to bona fide persons to acquire a flat, house or a piece of land for the building of a house not exceeding 4000 square meters.
